They’re songs of life and love you can play for years withyour friends and loved ones, and timeless classics that will continue being played long after we’regone. But it all starts with you now, taking a little time out from your busy life to enjoy a moment ofsurrendering to the music, and letting go of everything else (if even just for a few brief moments...).It was on a recent boat trip to the Marieta Islands in Mexico that the magic of this instrument wasreally brought home for me.I was strumming lightly on my uke when the dolphins came and started swimming around us, andthen came two big gray whales swimming near the boat, breaching, lunging and blowing their greatplumes of breath into the air.The presence in that moment was rich with the ineffable spaciousness of Spirit, as dolphins andwhales swam around us for what seemed like a moment stretching into eternity. As I continuedsystems and boundaries between us all – humans and animals – just melting away into the rich,sweet presence of the moment.In that endless space of time they sent a little of their sparkling magic essence right through me, and Islowly made our way back home.That’s the magic of this music, and this wonderful little instrument of peace and happiness fromHawaii called the Ukulele.
